History of the Formation of Phu Xuan University

Phu Xuan University was established by the Thua Thien - Hue Promotion of Learning Society on July 11, 2003, under Decision No. 140/2003/QD-TTg by the Prime Minister.

From 2003 to 2018, Phu Xuan University was honored to have educator Dr. Nguyen Dinh Ngo, former Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province, former head of the Provincial Education Department, and a three-term National Assembly delegate, serve as its President.

In 2018, a significant transformation occurred as Phu Xuan University received investment from the EQuest Education Organization. Emphasizing Attitude, Skills, and Knowledge as the core foundation of its training philosophy, the university focused on providing education based on the needs of the economy and professional knowledge orientation. On December 23, 2018, the university changed its status to private per Decision No. 1812/QD–Ttg by the Prime Minister.

In the new phase, Phu Xuan University offers education in eight majors: Information Technology, Accounting, Business Administration, English Language, Chinese Language, Vietnamese Studies (Tourism Major), Tourism Service Management - Tour Guiding, International Economics - Japanese Language. These are social science majors with high demand for human resources and promising career development prospects. The training programs are comprehensively updated to ensure the strategic goals, providing students with a coherent development of professional knowledge, professional skills, work demeanor, self-learning abilities, and physical and cultural development.

Phu Xuan University is a well-regarded institution receiving direct guidance and attention from the Ministry of Education & Training, the Provincial Party Committee, and the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province. Additionally, it receives support from Hue University, its member colleges, the General Department of Tourism, and non-governmental organizations such as the Southeast Asian Scholarship Fund and VHI Organization. Currently, with a total land area of 30,400 square meters, Phu Xuan University has three main campuses located in Hue City with modern and convenient learning facilities, including classrooms, dormitories, and a well-equipped library.

Establishment of Phu Xuan Private University

Phu Xuan Private University was established by the Thua Thien - Hue Promotion of Learning Society under Decision No. 140/2003/QD-TTg by the Prime Minister.

First President

Dr. Nguyen Dinh Ngo, former Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province (Term 1989 - 1994), former head of the Provincial Education Department, and a three-term continuous National Assembly delegate (Session VII to IX), became the first President of the University.

2003 - 2018

EQuest Education Organization - New Strategic Investor

Marking a strong transformation, Phu Xuan Private University received investment from the EQuest Education Organization, the largest private education organization in Vietnam.

The university changed its status to private per Decision No. 1812/QD–TTg by the Prime Minister.

Declaration of Vision and Mission

The university announced its Vision and Mission for the new phase under Decision No. 139/2019/QD-PXU.

Development Strategy 2021 - 2030, Vision to 2035

The university announced and implemented the Development Strategy for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision towards 2035, under Decision No. 08/2019/QD-PXU.

ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Operation

The university applied the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System under Decision No. 185/2020/QD-PXU.

Quality Assurance for Educational Facilities

The university was awarded the Certificate of Quality Assurance for Educational Facilities (Decision No. 472/QD-KDCLV by the Education Quality Assurance Center in Vinh).
