Phu Xuan University was established on July 11, 2003, and is the first and only private university in the city of Hue. In 2018, the EQuest Education Organization decided to invest in the university to transform it into a modern and reputable institution with international standing. 

Tập đoàn EQuest hiện là một trong những tổ chức giáo dục tư nhân lớn nhất ở Việt Nam với hơn 158.000 học viên theo học mỗi năm tại các đơn vị thành viên, bao gồm các trường phổ thông, các trường đại học, cao đẳng dạy nghề, dạy ngoại ngữ cùng các nền tảng công nghệ giáo dục.

Từ tháng 06/2022, Tập đoàn Giáo dục EQuest và các đơn vị thành viên thuộc Khối Phổ thông và Khối Anh ngữ và Công nghệ giáo dục được Tổ chức Kiểm định Cognia* (Mỹ) công nhận đạt kiểm định chất lượng toàn diện.

Với việc đầu tư toàn diện vào cơ sở vật chất, chương trình đào tạo, Trường Đại học Phú Xuân sẽ áp dụng những giá trị giáo dục đại học tiên tiến và hiện đại. Trong đó, lần đầu tiên mô hình đào tạo  “Learning Office” và “Learning Project” được đưa vào áp dụng tại Việt Nam nhằm đưa tối đa khả năng làm việc cho sinh viên.

Năm 2018 đánh dấu một bước chuyển mình mạnh mẽ của Trường Đại học Phú Xuân với việc nhận đầu tư từ Tổ chức giáo dục EQuest.
